Summary: Defective - thread length too long.
Comment: The tripod with flex legs is a nice design. However the threaded section that screws into the camera body is too long.
This does not allow the base of the camera to pull down flat against the top surface of the tripod the way it should. I have tried to resolve this matter directly with Flip but they have not been helpful.

Comment: I bought the mini flip-video camera to make Youtube movies. I love the camera. The tripod was very tiny, smaller than I expected. The tripod can be used to point the little camcorder at its target, but the camera is so small and easy to use, I found that I really do not need the tripod. The camera can be set on anything and get the same results. It's nice to have the tripod, just in case, but for me, it is basically useless.
