Summary: Very clean and handy
Comment: I love this trash can. It is as affordable as other stainless trash cans of similar size, but this one offers the hands-free automatic opening. I actually have bought two of these, but the gear in the first one broke after it got stuck and I tried forcing it to close (not a good idea). I have now learned my lesson and if the lid on the new one ever gets stuck in the open position again, I'll know to be more gentle. I highly recommend this trash can -- just be a little careful with the lid if you want it to last.

Comment: Works good, like the fact that the bag is totally inside the can so the dog can't pull it out. A bit annoying that when you walk too close past it the can will open. But you get used to it. The handsfree use is nice.

Comment: The iTouchless has been wonderful in our household. It is so much fun it seems we are having to swap out bags more often because every bit of trash in in the iTouchless. The house is spotless!!!
So far I have not had any complaints. I haven't run into any problems other than user errors. We lost the plastic ring one time during a bag change. I don't remember where the battery is for the unit. I hope it isn't in a hard to reach location.

Summary: Great Gift Idea
Comment: To all those wondering - my mother gave me one of these about 3 years ago and it still works great! Every now and then a glitch with the lid but still going strong even after a cross country move (where the outside got a bit dinged) but I wouldn't trade it (and will buy another when I have to replace this one).

Summary: Nice idea, poor execution
Comment: The sensor and lid work great; it's the rest of the can that is poorly made. The main lid does not fit well on the metal can, and the plastic ring to support trash bag does not fit securely within the metal can, so the heavy lid sometimes tips, and the trash bag often slides down into the can. The trash bag ring is held only by friction within the walls of the can, which is not strong enough to support a full trash bag.
