Customer Rating: Summary: Good beginner snowboard Comment: My 7 year old son received this snowboard from Santa this year, and I find it to be a very suitable, user friendly boart. The adjustable ratchet bindings are easy for a child to tighten and release once it has been demonstrated a few times. One word of caution. The ratchets are soft plastic and not as rugged as they could be. They are already beginning to wear and "skip", so take it easy on them, and feed through as much as you can before tightening. Also, the bindings slip through grooves on the board, so the lower edges poke through, which can slow things down, which may be a good thing :) On packed snow and ice, there isn't much slowing this board down though, so make sure you teach your child how to handle his/her speed before you strap it on. The board itself is decent quality plastic, bendy, but not "fragile". I will be checking to see whether bindings can be replaced, and maybe pick up a few extras, just incase.
