Customer Rating: Summary: The King of Cool Comment: This is an extraordinary collection that highlights the career of the anti-hero who - by 1972 - was the world's highest paid actor.
Having the two-disc special edition of Bullitt (1968) - in 2007, it was selected for preservation in the United States National Film Registry by the Library of Congress - and deluxe edition of The Getaway (1972) is worth the price of admission. The other films - Never So Few (1959), The Cincinnati Kid (1965), Papillon (1973), Tom Horn (1980) - make it a must-have set for McQueen fans. McQueen was executive producer for Tom Horn, a western that was one of his last films.
This is one collection that truly lives up to its billing as being "essential."
Customer Rating: Summary: What a waste... Comment: I bough this collection because I heard such great things about the movie "Bullitt". After watching it for 45 minutes I just turned it off. The sound effects sound like they were recorded by a kid and are out of sync with the events, the action sequences are predictable, and the acting is some of the worst I have ever seen. I have no desire to watch any of the others in this collection. I'm a big fan of older films and this was disappointing to say the least.
Customer Rating: Summary: Steve McQueen Box Set Comment: The videos themselves are good - no extra features really and no paper inserts for chapters, etc.
The sender, however, managed to send me a duplicate of one DVD and did not include another. After contacting them, they did send me the missing DVD.
Customer Rating: Summary: Steve McQueen DVD Collection Comment: Great set of McQueen movies! This selection is a must for the Steve McQueen fan.
Customer Rating: Summary: Can't beat this for value! Comment: If you like Steve McQueen, you can't beat this for value and content! A must for any McQueen fan!
