Summary: Fun, awesome movie!
Comment: My younger sister was obsessed with this movie when we were growing up, so I've probably seen it at least fifty times. Now, as an adult, it's great to watch it again because I realize how many huge stars were in it playing bit parts. Really fun movie...I wish they would re-release it to DVD!

Summary: Fun, Goofy Fairy Tale
Comment: It is what it is--a fun, goofy fairy tale. It's VERY dated--a lot of the cringe-worthy 80's fashion and artists were here in full force. I laughed at many parts of the video, and shocked even myself at some of the 80's artists I recognized.
I bought it mainly because of the presence of "That Lil' Ol' Band From Texas", the "guys with the 5 o'clock shadows" themselves, the fantabulous ZZ TOP (This video filled one of the few gaps in my ZZ Top collection).

Summary: One of my favorites
Comment: This movie has been one of my favorites since I first saw it when Disney channel was giving a "free" preview when you used to have to order it like HBO. I was about 10 then, and I still ADORE the movie. I ordered it when something made me search it on Amazon, and I have watched it with my nieces and nehpews, and sometimes by myself! Its the best blend of bright colors, catchy tunes, and some adult humor speckled here and there..way before shrek came along. If you are thinking about ordering it, do! And I suggest the Faery Tale Theater box set also!

Summary: One of my favorites of all time!
Comment: This is one of those movies we used to watch on the Disney Channel and just loved it more every time we saw it. I never knew it became a hard to find classic, but when I tried to find a copy to buy, I saw them going for up to $54 on Ebay. For those of you who want to buy it but can't find it, I went to Pricegrabber.com and paid $11 for a VHS copy. It's backordered, but worth the wait.

Summary: A colorful, wacky dessert for the soul
Comment: This movie is a DELIGHT!!!!!! No matter how old you are. Love the cast, sets, costumes, the lines, like jack and jill's "relationship" and Gordon referring to the 3 men in the tub (zz Top) as "those wackos with the 5 o'clock shadows." Loved Gordon and BoPeep's almost-kiss, the carnival scene (esp the barker), and the "Don't Be A Stick In The Mud song from the dungeon scene. Recommended for kids from 4-104

Editorial Reviews:

Mother Goose is missing from Rhymeland and it's up to Little Bo Peep and Mother Goose's son, Gordon, to find her. What is Rhymeland? It's the land of nursery rhymes created by Mother Goose. Problem is, if Mother Goose isn't around to keep the nursery rhymes alive, Rhymeland and its inhabitants will simply disappear. In this colorful, somewhat demented place, rock stars masquerade as Mother Goose characters and provide a whole new, if somewhat strange, perspective on classic rhymes. Little Bo Beep (Shelley Duvall) is first on the scene, seeking out Mother Goose (Jean Stapleton) to help her find her missing sheep. She and Gordon (Dan Gilroy) initiate a search that takes them on a tour of famous Mother Goose characters. Among others, Ben Vereen plays an amusing and incredibly flexible Itsy Bitsy Spider, Howie Mandel a punning Humpty Dumpty, Bobby Brown a fancy-footed member of the dancing Three Blind Mice, and ZZ Top the silent but ever helpful Three Men in a Tub. The search for Mother Goose follows a crooked road full of dead ends and full circles, eventually leading to the frightening "real world." Don't you wonder who the culprit will turn out to be? In spite of the title, there are only a few real rock performances in this 95-minute video--it's primarily outrageous character skits performed by famous rock stars with some fairly unremarkable rock music in the background. Because of the somewhat twisted, tongue-in-cheek take on classic Mother Goose tales, this video is best suited for adults and children 9 and older. --Tami Horiuchi
